Our History
Aber Holdings Limited (Aber) was established in 1980 by Alan Brown, originally specialising in automotive LPG and CNG equipment. Following the removal of Government subsidies in the late 1980s, the company downsized and faced a critical turning point. In 1993, Alan’s son Gregg Brown joined the business, leading its transformation into a national wholesaler and distributor.
On 1 July 2024, SGA International Pty Limited (Sitro Group) acquired a 55% shareholding in Aber. Sitro and Aber have collaborated for more than 30 years, and this investment formalises that long-standing relationship. The partnership is designed to enhance product development and operational efficiency while maintaining Aber’s local market focus.
Aber distributes a portfolio of leading brands including Gasmate, Charmate, Char-Broil, Oklahoma Joe, EPE, Excalibur, Kiwi Camping, Kent, Masterbuilt, Kamado Joe, Broil King, and Heat Beads
